In this campaign Char-Broil wanted to market their new Gas 2 Coal grill in a fun interactive way and play off of something in the theme of March. We decided to use March Madness and the brackets theme to let users pick their favorite aspects of Char-Broil products. In doing this we also collected user data to create more refined email lists to send more targeted emails to customers.
Challenge: Promote Char-Broil’s new product in a fun engaging way while collecting customer data for more targeted emails.
Approach: Using a survey styled around a “March Madness” themed bracket to engage users to leave feedback on which products they use. Whether it be for grilling or smoking, or which method they use to cook via gas, charcoal, or electric.
Outcome: This allowed us to engage the users about the different cooking methods in a fun way to collect data while also getting them excited for the unveiling of the Gas 2 Coal grill which allows both methods on the same grill.

By targeting these users we were able to create much more accurate lists to send more accurate and custom curated campaigns to customers. We could also use this data to see which products are more popular among Char-Broil’s customer base and where to focus attention.
